About the Pekingese

The Pekingese is an ancient Chinese breed with a regal bearing and a magnificent mane-like coat around the neck and shoulders. Their dense double coat β€” with a soft, thick undercoat and a longer, coarser outer coat β€” requires regular grooming to stay healthy and comfortable.

Without regular brushing and grooming, the Pekingese coat can quickly develop mats, particularly in warm weather. Regular grooming every 6–8 weeks helps prevent this and keeps the coat in excellent condition.

Special attention should be paid to their face wrinkles and eyes, which need regular cleaning to prevent irritation and infection.
